Russian salad, also known as Olivier salad, is a popular dish in Russia and many other parts of the world. It typically consists of diced potatoes, carrots, peas, pickles, eggs, and mayonnaise. Here is a step-by-step recipe for making this delicious salad:

Ingredients:

2 large potatoes, peeled and diced into small cubes

2 large carrots, peeled and diced into small cubes

1 cup frozen peas, thawed

2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped

2-3 pickles, chopped

1/2 cup mayonnaise

Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:

1 Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil over high heat. Add the diced potatoes and carrots to the pot and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until they are tender but still firm.

2 Drain the cooked vegetables and rinse them with cold water to stop the cooking process. Allow the vegetables to cool completely.

3 In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled potatoes and carrots with the thawed peas, chopped eggs, and chopped pickles.

4 Add the mayonnaise to the bowl and stir well to coat the vegetables and other ingredients evenly.

5 Season the salad with salt and black pepper to taste, stirring well to incorporate the seasoning.

6 Transfer the salad to a serving bowl and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
